Katherine Dalsimer, a psychologist, reads Woolf's juvenilia, letters, and diaries alongside the major novels. The book is a slim trade paperback, serious without being clinical, with the Yale cover that expects to be shelved between biography and criticism. It is an argument as much as a portrait. Yale kept the apparatus minimal, letting Dalsimer's argument carry the volume.
