Sobieszek covers the cut-ups, the shotgunned paintings, the collaborations with Gysin, Haring, and Rauschenberg. The production is exhibition-catalog quality: photographs, essays, and the occasional manifesto, printed on the coated paper that museums order when they want a show to outlast its run. Small Press Distribution handled the trade edition after the museum run, which is how catalog books reach bookstores. Ideal reader: the Burroughs reader who wants to know what he did when he was not writing novels, or the artist interested in the overlap of text, image, and violence.
